Frequently Asked
Common questions about how we work.
- What hours are you available?
- The emergency line rings 24/7 and a working arborist picks up — not a voicemail or a call center. Call 207-250-1079 any hour. If someone's hurt or there's a fire, call 911 first.
- Do you work in our area?
- We work a tight radius around Waterville — Winslow, Oakland, Fairfield, Benton, Sidney, Vassalboro, China, and the towns right next to them. Keeping it close is what lets us reach a storm job fast instead of sitting three counties deep in a queue. Not sure if you're in range? Call 207-250-1079 and we'll tell you straight.
- Do you work in the winter?
- Yes — winter is some of our best removal weather. Frozen ground means less damage to the lawn, the leaves are down so we can read the tree, and ice and storm work does not wait for spring. Same crew, same number, all year.
- Are you licensed and insured?
- Yes. We’re a licensed Maine arborist — First Class Landscape & Utility, license FCL&U3735 — and we carry general liability and workers’ compensation coverage. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
- What areas do you serve?
- We work throughout central Maine — Waterville, Winslow, Oakland, Fairfield, Skowhegan and the surrounding towns. Not sure if you’re in range? Give us a call and ask.
- How fast can you respond to an emergency?
- Our 24-hour line rings a working arborist, not a call center. For a tree on a house, a blocked driveway, or a limb on a line, we move as fast as conditions safely allow — day or night.
- Do you offer free quotes?
- Yes. We quote in person so the price is real — we walk the site, look at access and cleanup, and give you a straight number.
- Do you remove trees close to a house or power lines?
- That’s a lot of what we do. Technical removals near roofs, fences, and power lines are handled with rigging and sectional dismantling — lowered piece by piece rather than felled.
- Do you top trees?
- No. Topping harms the tree and grows back weak and hazardous. We reduce and prune with proper cuts, and we climb on rope rather than spiking a tree we aren’t removing.
- What should I have ready when I call?
- Roughly how tall the tree is, the species if you know it, and how close it is to the house, power lines, or a fence — plus anything urgent. It helps us size the job, but if you’re not sure, we’ll sort it out on site.
- Can you help with a storm-damage insurance claim?
- Yes. For storm work we document the damage with the photos your adjuster needs and can work with your homeowners’ claim.
- Do you clean up when the job is done?
- Always. We rake the site clean, and the firewood from your job is yours if you want it — otherwise we haul it off.
